Endorsing Peetz for Legislature

It is with great enthusiasm that I personally endorse Brandi Peetz for the state Legislature in the Fourth Legislative District. As a dedicated City of Spokane Valley council member Brandi Peetz has consistently demonstrated her unwavering commitment to our community, championing conservative values and advocating for responsible governance.

In the state Legislature, Brandi Peetz will bring the same level of dedication and integrity that has marked her tenure on the City Council. She understands the importance of protecting our freedoms, supporting small businesses, and fostering an environment where families can thrive. Her pragmatic approach and deep-rooted conservative principles make her the ideal candidate to represent our district.

I have no doubt that Brandi Peetz will be a strong and effective voice for us in the state Legislature. Her commitment to public service and her vision for a better future make her the leader we need. I wholeheartedly endorse Brandi Peetz and urge you to join me in supporting her candidacy.

Peetz provides proven leadership

I am writing to endorse Brandi Peetz for state representative, 4th Legislative District, Position No. 2. Having served the Spokane Valley on City Council, two of them as Deputy Mayor, I can confidently say that she has the qualities and skills to excel in this position. Brandi has served at the State level as the former Chair of the Washington State Traffic Safety Commission, member of the Washington State Enhanced 911 Advisory Committee, and was a member of the Association of Washington Cities Legislative Policies Committee. Brandi has served on numerous local boards and committees, to include the Spokane County Sheriff’s Citizens Advisory Board and is a Board Member of the Girls Scouts of Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho. Recently she advocated for protections of sports officials when assaulted, which passed the House 97-0. As a citizen of the Spokane Valley, I believe that it is essential to elect leaders who are committed to improving our community. Peetz has demonstrated her commitment to public service, has the proven track record, and will continue to work tirelessly to make our community a better place, collaborating with both sides of the aisle. By doing a little research and reading your voter’s guide, or her website at www.peetzforwa.com, you will find Brandi Peetz is the right choice for this position, as evidenced by her numerous endorsements. Please join me in sending Brandi Peetz to Olympia as your proven and trusted voice.

Peetz: Tireless community leader

I have been acquainted with Brandi Peetz since she joined the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office Citizens Advisory Board and decided to run for Spokane Valley City Council in 2017. Despite being a political newcomer, Brandi had deep roots in the community, and those familiar with her spoke highly of her abilities and character, which is why I have supported her endeavors. She is insightful, inquisitive, dedicated, and passionate, using critical thinking and common sense to get the job done. In her time as a community leader, Brandi has delivered and fought tirelessly for the City of Spokane Valley, repairing bridges and building new connections to bring together various groups and efforts.

In this election, it’s important to note that the state faces significant challenges, and we need a representative with a proven track record of success and an understanding of how the legislature works. Through bipartisan collaboration with local leaders, Brandi leveraged her established relationships to help them advocate for an issue she believed in, ultimately helping them secure a unanimous 97-0 vote in the state House of Representatives.

I know I can count on Brandi to thoroughly educate herself on all sides of an issue and work tirelessly to represent the 4th District’s needs, as she has proven, and is still serving this community to this day in many capacities. I strongly encourage you to vote for Brandi Peetz for state representative.

Peetz to represent our community and the families

I’m writing about an amazing woman who is running for state representative in the 4th District. Brandi Peetz has been such an influential person in my life, but she has also made a very positive impact on the lives of my daughters, and those of several of my friends.

We first met years ago when she invited our Girl Scout troop to the city of Spokane Valley council meeting to lead in the Pledge of Allegiance. Before the meeting, she took the time to make our girls feel important and gave them a tour of City Hall and talked to them about local government. She was amazing at communicating with them passionately, but also in a way they understood. The girls were so nervous about getting in front of a bunch of strangers, but Brandi helped build their confidence and made them all feel comfortable. She then continued to meet with us several times after hours to talk about empowering women in the workforce, discussing democracy, and entrepreneurship.

My daughters have looked up to her as a leader, but also have seen her demonstrate compassion and generosity when helping with the annual Parade of Lights. Even aside from Girl Scouts, Brandi has become a special person in our lives. She has remained in contact with us, always asking about our children’s futures and being there to help when needed. I cannot think of someone better to represent our community and the families within it.

Peetz will hit the ground running

We are supporting Brandi Peetz as Washington State 4th District Legislator, Position 2. Her formal education in criminal justice, experience as deputy mayor of Spokane Valley City Council, and service as Chair of the Washington State Traffic Safety Commission allows her to hit the ground running. She and her husband own businesses and she is concerned that we develop policies friendly to businesses as well as needs at the state level to include economic development, affordable housing and education. We have known her for years and know her to be intelligent, honest, hard-working, and a person of common sense. We all need her in our Legislature.

Targeting Change: Insights from the Shooting Range for Stronger Advocacy

We were fortunate enough to have Jeremy Ball, owner of Sharp Shooting Indoor Range & Gun Shop, talk to us about the impacts this past session has on not only their business but on our citizens and families. It is so important for citizens to get involved and partake in our civic duties. There are so many ways to advocate. You can sign in on a bill pro/con, send letters/emails to your legislators, speak with organizations and advocacy groups that help educate the community, and testify during a hearing if you are up to the challenge. Legislators need your help to fight on your behalf and sometimes the smallest things can make the biggest impacts.

Significant gun safety bills that passed the Legislature this year include:

  • HB 1903, requiring gun owners to report stolen guns to law enforcement within 24 hours or face a potential fine of up to $1,000. We will join 15 other states in adopting a law that has been shown to reduce both illegal firearm access and the number of illegal firearms recovered at crime scenes.
  • HB 2118, requiring gun dealers in Washington to ensure their inventory is kept safe and secure, to keep standardized records, to make timely reports of loss and theft, to preserve video recordings of transactions, and to carry liability insurance.
  • SB 5444, banning open carry of firearms in public libraries, zoos and aquariums, and transit stations.
  • HB 2021, authorizing the Washington State Patrol to destroy firearms they have seized, so dangerous weapons are not recirculated back into the communities. It also requires law enforcement to destroy firearms acquired through a buyback program.

Please support Brandi Peetz

Leadership is cultivated from one’s deep commitment and love for the community and the people that call it their home. Representative candidate Brandi Peetz continues to give of herself year after year in efforts to make Eastern Washington a place that we can not only be proud of but also call home.

I have had the continued honor of standing at Brandi Peetz’s side as her coach, teacher and friend through high school, serving with Blessings Under the Bridge, and her six* years on Spokane Valley’s City Council. I am deeply proud of her grit, integrity and passion for her community. I fully support her next chapter as she seeks to serve our 4th District State Representative Position 2 with honor.

It's a new era...

As a community we have an opportunity to change the "it's just politics" mantra that has been touted for years. We have a choice to be kind, have integrity, and run on our merits and not what party lines or agenda we tow. Just because it's always been done that way doesn't mean it's right, nor should it be accepted. I'm excited to see new ideas and perspectives in hopes that we can set a new precedent and work together for the betterment of our communities.

It's a crowded race...

We are halfway through filing week and one step closer to the primary election in August.

I believe that I have the best credentials and resources in this race in order to be successful and your best voice in Olympia! Not only am I the only one with a public safety education, a youth perspective, and a diverse background in the issues, but I have established relationships both over in Olympia and right here at home in the 4th district that will help me hit the ground running.

I will bring the same tenacity and passion I had as a Spokane Valley City Councilmember to this position and will stay true to my conservative values. Regardless of party or beliefs I have always been available and eager to listen to all constituents both inside and outside of the district.

I have proven what kind of leader I am and hope that you will continue supporting my efforts on your behalf.
