Economic Growth
In order to have a prosperous and sustainable economy, we must focus on strengthening our trades and training new workers, expand technology, continue recruitment of businesses, and expand partnerships throughout Washington.
Our main focus should be attraction and retention of businesses as well as investing in the partnerships that already exist. Although it's important to recruit and expand services, we have to make taking care of the people already investing in our communities a priority.
As a border community to Idaho, we often find it difficult to compete with their growing population and incentives for a prosperous and healthy business climate. If we can propose legislation to be less burdensome and costly, we can sustain the amazing businesses we already have and attract new ones to keep up with supply and demand. There have been recent discussions about adding more health care costs and taxes/programs. We need Washingtonians to keep more of their hard earned money and legislature needs to find creative ways to fund programs and create resources without continuing to burden our workers and businesses. I truly believe in enhancing entrepreneurial opportunities because they can alter lives both from a business perspective and a community perspective. Every Washingtonian should have the opportunity to be more prosperous than those who came before them, but we are seeing more and more living paycheck-to-paycheck and cannot make ends meet.
By lessening the tax burdens and streamlining processing, it will help businesses to invest, create, and expand in their operations. In turn, they provide resources, employ citizens, and add value to their communities. The most important concept, are free enterprise and free markets that can improve economic mobility, safety, and production.
On the job training and apprenticeships allow for practical and technical training in your desired industry while making a livable wage. Whether it be in construction, aerospace, IT, or another industry, locally we have numerous programs to choose from and it allows flexibility for both students and non traditional members of our community to invest in their future and provide for their families.
